I'm a Chicago native - one of three children of a Colombian father and Cuban mother. My passions are journalism, music, fitness and covering politics. I sing baritone/bass in my church choir and did my first triathlon last year. I've been a mentor for the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and/or UNITY Journalists for four years, and I really enjoy working with students. For six years, I ran The News-Press' opinion pages before assuming my new gig this summer, overseeing our digital journalism. I've got a lot to learn, but I'm looking forward to it. This is my first ONA conference.
