Sarah Blazucki (she/her)

US Government
former editor/communications coordinator
District of Columbia
Sarah Blazucki has over 20 years of communications experience, with expertise in government agency communications, journalism and publishing, including 15 years’ experience as editor. She has edited a range of print and online publications, including books, magazines, newspapers, reports, press releases, web and social media content and marketing materials. Sarah is passionate about style (some might say a stickler) and diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility efforts.

Sarah recently obtained her J.D. (summa cum laude) and was admitted to the D.C. bar; she now works in the legal field. In law school, Sarah was senior executive editor of her school’s law review. Before that, she spent 10 years working in U.S. government communications as a communications coordinator and agency editor. In her communications positions, Sarah oversaw editorial efforts at the agency and office levels, assuring external communications adhered to editorial and branding style guides and departmental standards. She managed the development and publication of guidebooks, reports to Congress and websites, and routinely advised and negotiated with senior leadership and agency offices on language use and accessibility issues. Prior to working for the U.S. government, Sarah was the editor of the award-winning Philadelphia Gay News and a freelance résumé writer. Sarah serves as co-chair for the stylebook committee for NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists, and was previously a board member for NLGJA, Unity: Journalists for Diversity and Youth Pride (D.C.).
